Naruto: Sasuke's 10 Best Jutsus/Techniques

Sasuke Uchiha is one of the greatest shinobi in all of Naruto, growing to become a tremendous aid to his rival and the current Hokage, Naruto Uzumaki. As the head of the Uchiha Clan and a renowned presence in Konoha, many know of Sasuke's monumental power and the techniques in his vast arsenal.

With the jutsus he acquired from his clan and the many improvised techniques learned from observing others with his Sharingan, Sasuke has a remarkably wide range of attacks available to him at his disposal. Looking at his many jutsus and techniques, here are 10 of his most powerful and useful.

10 Kirin

Developed by Sasuke himself, Kirin is a Lightning Release technique that draws on the power of natural lightning to bolster the amount of damage given. Controlling the lightning with his chakra, Sasuke was able to generate an attack so powerful it managed to destroy a mountain — this can be attested to the additional power added to the technique by his Amaterasu.

A rarity of this technique is that it doesn't solely rely on chakra, instead taking power from natural resources (the weather). As such, a major downside of this technique is that its power levels are reliant on the environment, with the alternative being artificial storm clouds generated by other jutsus that may require chakra usage. Nevertheless, this technique has immense potential for very little chakra, making it an ace for Sasuke despite its one-time use in battle.

9 Demonic Illusion: Shackle Stakes Technique

Using his Sharingan to entrap his victims in a genjutsu, this technique sees Sasuke imprisoning his target in an illusion where they continually experience sharp spikes being stabbed through their bodies. Akin to all genjutsu, the spikes themselves are not real, instead playing on sensory illusions to inflict mental strain on the victim.

The main purpose of this technique is for torture and has only been executed by the two Uchiha brothers. Given that the jutsu draws power from the Sharingan, it holds tremendous power over other genjutsus and is much harder to break out of.

8 Susanoo

The Susanoo is an immensely powerful ability exclusive to users with a Mangekyō Sharingan in both eyes, said to be one of the most powerful abilities overall. As an extension of the user, the Susanoo is created from the user's chakra and forms around them as a giant, humanoid being. There are numerous techniques Sasuke has emulated through his Susanoo that are simply stronger versions of his other jutsus, including his Chidori and his Fireball Jutsu.

Because of the amount of chakra needed to release a Susanoo, the ability causes immense strain on the user, particularly with their eyes as it is the source of its release. The trade-off is substantial, of course, since the Susanoo delivers remarkable damage while simultaneously acting as a protective layer for the user.

7 Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi

Blaze Release: Kagutsuchi draws on Sasuke's Amaterasu by manipulating the generated black flames into different forms using shape transformation. With this technique, Sasuke can gain both improved offensive and defensive properties: the black flames can form a barrier around him with the ability to protect and injure opponents with its spikes, and they can combine with his Chidori to strengthen it.

When using his Susanoo, Sasuke can increase his defenses by encasing it in the flames or by using the flames to grant his Susanoo flame-manipulated weapons. Additionally, in accordance with Sasuke being adept in kenjutsu, Sasuke can use this technique to wrap around the blade of his chokutō, increasing its potential.

6 Amenotejikara

Able to manipulate space and time itself, Sasuke uses the Rinnegan in his left eye to move between spaces as a result of the Sage of the Six Path's blessing. The technique has many uses as Sasuke can either use it to escape enemy attacks by temporarily jumping into a different space or ensnaring enemies in traps by switching places with them.

Related: Naruto: 10 Fights Naruto Should Have Never Won (But Did Anyways)

In the fight against Momoshiki, Sasuke allowed himself to be trapped by Momoshiki's chains, following up by swapping places with him to allow Naruto an easier hit. Sasuke himsel does not need to look at the object he intends to swap with to successfully switch places, and in adulthood does not need to wait for his Rinnegan to recharge to move.

5 Indra's Arrow

Indra's Arrow is credited as Sasuke's most powerful offensive technique. Using his Susanoo, Sasuke was able to accomplish this technique by absorbing the Nine Tailed Beasts' chakra. The overflowing chakra is manipulated into a longbow and arrow, and the offensive power is said to be so grand that it rivals Naruto's Six Paths: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken, which is said to be one of the Seventh Hokage's best techniques.

A fun fact about Indra's Arrow is that it derives its name from the ancestor of the Uchiha Clan, Indra Ōtsutsuki.

4 Chidori

At its base, Chidori is an exceptionally reliable Lightning Release jutsu that Sasuke has taken as his own after learning to use it from his team 7 sensei, Kakashi Hatake. The basic form of this jutsu sees the user generate lightning in their hand as they thrust their arm forward, generating lethal damage and, if strong enough, piercing through their target.

Sasuke has developed many Chidori variants with varying properties. This includes imbuing his chokutō with his Chidori to create a lightning katana, generating many small bolts, forming a large horizontal beam that easily pierces targets (which he used on his future wife, Sakura Haruno), many dark Chidori, and even one so powerful it resulted in the loss of Sasuke's left arm.

3 Hurricane Thunderclap: Majestic Attire Sword Stroke

Coming together to form one of the most ruthless attacks, Sasuke and Naruto combine their respective powers and manifest them into an armored Kurama. Sasuke's Susanoo takes the form of armor in a technique called Majestic Attire: Sasuanoo made to withhold Kurama's chakra; in this form, Kurama's chakra cannot be suppressed and his offensive/defensive abilities are enhanced.

Related: Naruto: Every Team Naruto Has Been Part Of

Hurricane Thunderclap: Majestic Attire Sword Stroke is simply Kurama wielding Susanoo's sword with the power bestowed via Sasuke and Naruto's chakras. The combination of the two is substantial, proving just how great of a pair the two of them are.

2 Summoning Technique: Snake

While Sasuke is capable of summoning many creatures and weapons, objectively his most ferocious summons are his snakes, in which he has shown the ability to summon two. During his battle against Deidara, Sasuke summoned Manda, a snake known as one of the Ryūchi Cave bosses that had previously been summoned by Orochimaru. Sasuke controlled Manda using a genjutsu, and only after Manda was released did the beast succumb to its injuries.

His personal summon, Aoda, is a snake that first appeared during the Fourth Great Shinobi War and is pledged to Sasuke. Aoda differs greatly from Manda in that he's more reserved and appears to hold Sasuke in high regard. Sasuke's daughter, Sarada, would later go on to meet Aoda, who would display his loyalty to Sasuke's family by protecting Sarada from the fearsome snake Garaga — who would become the summon of Naruto's son and Sasuke's apprentice, Boruto.

1 Chibaku Tensei

Chibaku Tensei is an extraordinary technique available to Rinnegan users, drawing power from the Deva Path that allows force manipulation. The technique allows the user to produce a massive black orb with the power to pull surrounding objects, people, and environments into it. Rubble and debris drawn into the orb provide several properties, either being used to trap victims or crush them under the weight of everything in the orb.

Sasuke has primarily used this technique for trapping foes, relying on debris to form an orb shape rather than manifesting a black orb. It is said that the orbs are incredibly difficult to escape from, making this technique one of the best for subduing overpowered opponents.

Naruto: Top 10 Strongest Jutsu Of Uchiha Sasuke

Sasuke is a member of the famed Uchiha clan and one of the main characters of the Naruto series. He is known to be one of the most powerful characters by the end of the series. Born with the powers of the Sharingan, Sasuke was destined to become a great shinobi.

RELATED: Naruto: The Worst Things Sasuke Ever Did, Ranked

With continuous training, Sasuke reached the peak of his strength and became strong enough to fight against the strongest of enemies, including the Otsutsuki. Over the said course of time, he has also developed a lot of Jutsu, some of which are rank amongst the strongest in the entire series. Here are the 10 strongest Jutsu of Uchiha Sasuke.

10 Sasuke's Space-Time Dojutsu

Space-Time Dojutsu is a very rare technique that not a lot of characters are capable of using. Although Sasuke didn't have this power from the beginning, he gained access to it sometime after leaving Konoha towards the end of the series.

Using his power, Sasuke can travel to different dimensions and planets in an instant. However, it also consumes a lot of his chakra, which means Sasuke can use it only a handful of times.

9 Kagutsuchi Chidori

Chidori is the go-to Jutsu of Sasuke Uchiha, as seen throughout Naruto. While using this technique, Sasuke clads his palm in lightning chakra which increases its speed and penetration power.

With time, Sasuke managed to infuse the black flames of Kagutsuchi with it to make it more deadly than ever. It was powerful enough to clash equally with Naruto's six paths enhanced Rasengan.

8 Kirin

Another lightning release Jutsu, Kirin is a technique that Sasuke Uchiha developed during his training with Orochimaru. It debuted during his fight against Itachi and was later used against Naruto Uzumaki as well. This Jutsu hits the opponents at a lightning speed and only a few are capable of dodging it.

Apart from utilizing lightning from nature, it also covers a large area. When used against Itachi, he was only able to survive because of the powers of the Susanoo.

7 Genjutsu: Rinnegan

This Genjutsu is one of the strongest weapons in Sasuke's arsenal. As seen in Naruto, it can trap any opponent an illusion and paralyze them with just eye-contact.

RELATED: Naruto: Top 10 Strongest Sage Mode Users, Ranked

Utilizing his Rinnegan, Sasuke was able to cast this Jutsu over all 9 Tailed Beasts within a matter of seconds and trap them with Chibaku Tensei. His level of skill with Genjutsu is certainly in a league of its own.

6 Chibaku Tensei

Chibaku Tensei, also known as Planetary Devastation, is a technique that is utilized via the Deva Path of the Rinnegan. After acquiring the Rinnegan, Sasuke gained access to this power, as seen during his fight against Naruto Uzumaki.

When used, Sasuke was able to trap all of the nine-tailed beasts with ease. What's more, he even managed to absorb their chakra once trapping them in the sealing jutsu.

5 Deva Path

One of the strongest paths of the Rinnegan, the Deva Path grants the user the ability to control the attractive and repulsive forces at will, as seen during Naruto's fight vs. Pain.

Sasuke, being a Rinnegan user, has full access to this ability. It allows Sasuke to cause large-scale destruction as seen during his fight against Naruto Uzumaki.

4 Amaterasu

Amaterasu is a powerful Dojutsu technique that Sasuke acquired through his Mangekyo Sharingan. It gave him access to black flames capable of incinerating anything and everything on contact.

RELATED: Naruto: 5 Characters Stronger Than Itachi (& 5 Who Are Weaker)

The heat of these flames is said to be hotter than the sun itself, which shows how powerful it truly is. The only way to avoid this technique is to either outrun it or having the ability to absorb it.

3 Amenotejikara

Amenotejikara is a Space-Time Ninjutsu that Sasuke gained through his Rinnegan. It is quite easily one of his strongest Jutsu to date. When used, Sasuke is able to shift space and swap his position with any object in his range, including the opponent themselves.

It gives Sasuke a great advantage in battle as he gains the power to launch surprise attacks and even trap the opponents in their own Jutsu.

2 Susanoo

Known to be the ultimate defense, Susanoo is one of the strongest abilities in Narutoverse. It is a giant humanoid created by the chakra of a Mangekyo Sharingan user. Sasuke is one of the few people who have the power to use a Full-body Susanoo.

As suggested earlier, this ability can protect its user from almost anything and has the power to split even mountain ranges casually. Sasuke's ultimate Susanoo was powerful enough to match Naruto's three-headed Kurama battle avatar.

1 Indra's Arrow

Indra's Arrow is said to be the strongest offensive ability in Sasuke's arsenal. It is supposedly the highest order of a lightning release technique that we've ever seen in Naruto.

Sasuke used it after absorbing the chakra of all the Tailed Beasts. When used against Naruto, Sasuke could match his Six Paths: Ultra Big Ball Rasenshuriken comfortably.

Naruto: 20 Of Sasuke's Powers, Officially Ranked

From day one, Sasuke Uchiha was built up like this one of a kind ninja with incredible powers. Sasuke is the ninja that Naruto wants to be early on, and their rivalry only continues to grow. He always challenged Naruto to continue to become stronger and in doing so became one of the most powerful shinobi of all time.

Throughout Naruto and Naruto: Shippuden Sasuke continued to learn and develop new techniques. He amassed so many jutsus and abilities that by the end of the series he stood tall as one of the only characters to match Naruto in strength. It's an honor not many share, and Sasuke is up there because of his talents. Sasuke is an avenger, and his duty to the Uchiha clan is what drove him to get so strong. He achieved his goal and with that amassed a multitude of jutsus.

Now, to dive into all those powers would make for a long read. Sasuke has mastered and displayed over 50 jutsus during the manga’s run. So, for the sanity of all readers, this list will focus on just 20 of his better-known powers. Also, the Sharingan itself is not on this list, but certain stages of its development are included. All these techniques and abilities are considered at their full strength and for their capability in battle.

Here are 20 Of Sasuke's Powers, Officially Ranked.

20 Fire Style: Phoenix Flower Jutsu

An early favorite, the Phoenix Flower Jutsu was a common offensive technique used by Sasuke. Sasuke would often combine the method with shurikens hidden in the small flame volleys. The combination led to a reliable technique that had a range to it.

Part of what makes this jutsu so compelling is the difficulty many enemies have dodging the flame bullets. There are so many flames lobbed at the opponent that the technique is almost impossible to avoid. Sasuke is able to control the fire with his chakra, so every single volley is difficult to doge. For one of the first jutsus, many viewers saw Sasuke use it definitely packed a wallop.

19 Lions Barrage

Sasuke had a challenge in front of him during the preliminary match of the final round of the Chunin exam. Kakashi told him that he could not use his chakra or the curse seal would activate. Given this restriction, Sasuke utilized taijutsu instead and was assisted by his fight with Rock Lee (he copied his movements with the Sharingan).

The results of this complicated scenario were the invention of a new technique. Sasuke combined the Shadow of the Dancing Leaf and the beginning of the front lotus to craft a new powerful combo. The move is called Lions Barrage in the English anime and involves multiple quick strikes to elevate the opponent to an incredible height. From here, Sasuke basically bicycle kicks the opponent with enough force to rapidly drive them to the ground. When it makes enough contact, it can be a punishing move.

18 Hidden Shadow Snake Hands

This technique comes from Sasuke’s time with Orochimaru. The legendary Sannin taught the young Uchiha a lot of powerful jutsus and was responsible for a lot of the growth we saw in the series. Orochimaru is known for his ability to use snakes and Sasuke is just one of his many pupils that also learned these abilities.

The Hidden Shadow Snake Hands allows the user to summon a horde of snakes from their body to attach the enemy. This attack gives Sasuke the ability to strike from a long distance. It’s a tricky move to avoid and can even restrict the opponent. This technique has multiple uses, and that makes it a powerful move in Sasuke’s arsenal.

17 Orochimaru-Style: Body Replacement Technique

This jutsu also comes from Orochimaru, and Sasuke is able to utilize it to the jutsu’s full capability when he was still linked to Orochimaru. It’s an escape jutsu that allows Sasuke to remove himself from a dangerous situation. This is a top defensive ability that Sasuke uses for a good amount of time.

The Body Replacement Technique allows Sasuke to shed his skin to avoid severe damage from an attack. The enemy’s attack becomes void, and Sasuke escapes harm with the advantage. It’s just another snake technique Sasuke gains through Orochimaru’s teaching.

16 Binding Snake Glare Spell

Yes, more snakes for this entry. Sasuke uses a lot of snakes if that has not become clear. This one is a tad more potent than the others. Again, Sasuke utilizes this in rare instances, but if one considers the full capability this one amounts to an amazing power.

Some of the most powerful shinobi could likely not escape this jutsu. It binds the target with two powerful snakes and then constricts them. The Binding Snake Glare Spell even has poisonous capabilities (if the snake bites the enemy). That added threat means this attack can continue to damage opponents after its used.

15 Summoning: Manda

The ability to complete a summoning contract is nothing new in the series. Since fans were introduced to it, they have seen a multitude of creatures assist shinobi in battle. However, no animal is as threatening as Manda.

Manda is the strongest large serpent fans know about (unless you count his clone, Manda II, which is still technically him).  Being able to summon him is no easy feat, and as the boss summons of snakes, he takes a lot of power to be used as an ally. Luckily, Sasuke is able to subdue him with genjutsu and utilize the durability of Manda to save his life. It’s a staggering feat and only someone as powerful as Sasuke could achieve it.

14 Summoning: Garuda

Sasuke is so strong he has many summoning techniques, unlike most ninja who cannot even summon one creature. On top of snakes, Sasuke can also summon hawks. The staple hawk that Sasuke summons is Garuda. Sasuke proves this idea a multitude of times during the series.

Garuda is another boss summon. He is a large bird that seems incredibly trusting and helps Sasuke out of lots of dangerous situations. Garuda is the ally that most ninja’s desire from a summoning jutsu. He even saves Sasuke and Naruto during their fight with Kaguya. Having a trusted, secure summon like Garuda just makes Sasuke even more of a threat to any opponent.

13 Chidori

Man, every fan remembers where they were when they saw Sasuke use the Chidori for the first time (that may not be true, but it’s possible). He climbed to the top of the arena and began the jutsu. Suddenly, the sound of chirping could be heard, and fans knew what was up.

The Chidori is a technique created by Kakashi Hatake. The move is a dangerous technique used to assassinate ninjas. The user builds up a concentrated amount of chakra in his hand and doing a lightning release. At first, Sasuke has to build up speed to help create a deadly blast and can only use it twice a day. However, by the end of the series, Sasuke can use it multiple times without strain. Talk about some real power.

12 Mangekyo

This is the first of the Sharingan developments this list mentions. The Sharingan itself is a powerful Kekkei Genkai. The user is able to copy jutsus and match the opponent’s moves. However, when a user unlocks the Mangekyo Sharingan, they unlock even more abilities.

Now most fans know that those abilities are technically considered separate from the Mangekyo itself. Those techniques can be used once someone unlocks the Mangekyo Sharingan by seeing someone close to them die. The new ability allows the user to avoid the chakra drain of the traditional fully-realized Sharingan. The way this technique unlocks more power makes it a powerful tool for Sasuke to use.

11 Sword of Kusanagi: Chidori Katana

Sasuke learns how to wield many weapons for max damage. In fact, Sasuke has a tremendous knack for kenjutsu. That being said, the most powerful of these is his Sword of Kusanagi.

What fully encapsulates this weapon is Sasuke’s Chidori being fused with it. This creates a Chidori blade with a considerable threat for anyone who has to face Sasuke in battle when he uses it. When an opponent is stabbed by the Chidori Katana, they then become numb and lose the ability to move. It’s a stunning power that destroys enemies and gives Sasuke the upper-hand.

10 Amaterasu

This entry is a big-time ability unlocked through the Mangekyo Sharingan. Itachi Uchiha is a master of this technique, and Sasuke shows the same ability once he opens this power. This is one of the ultimate skills of the Mangekyo Sharingan users.

Amaterasu is a technique that allows the caster to summon black flames that can burn for over a week. These black flames cannot be extinguished by reasonable means. Amaterasu is even more dangerous because it can used as both an offensive and defensive maneuver. The flexibility makes it a staple power for Sasuke to use.

9 Six Paths of Yin Power

So by this point in the series, the amount of power being displayed had officially jumped the shark. Both Naruto and Sasuke were reaching max power, and this additional power-up sealed it. The Six Paths of Yin Power is given to Sasuke after being wielded by Hamura and Hagoromo Ōtsutsuki.

Not much is known about the exact details of this power. What is known is that it gives Sasuke extraordinary power and when combined with Naruto’s Six Paths of Yang Power it unleashes an incredible technique (more on that later). Still, even if it is only seen for a brief time, the power it grants Sasuke cannot be understated.

8 Susanoo

This is a complicated entry. The Susanoo is only opened once the user unlocks Mangekyo Sharingan. Once both eyes are unlocked, the user must go through stages of developing their Susanoo, a human avatar made of chakra that assists the caster in battle.

Once Sasuke reaches the complete body stage of casting the Susanoo, his full potential with the technique is discovered. The ability puts him under a lot of strain. However, once he casts the Susanoo, he gains an excellent defense with an offensive ability with no range limit. That power is a two-fold destructive weapon. Sasuke is one of the only shinobi fans see use this magnificent technique.

7 Kirin

Now Kirin is only ahead of the Susanoo technique because of the fact it destroyed Itachi’s Susanoo. The move is a dominant offensive technique. Sasuke cannot use this technique all the time, but when he has enough chakra, it can be a dangerous attack.

The technique relies on natural lightning, so the user has to exhaust their chakra to make thunder clouds if not there are none around. Once the lightning strikes, the user is able to shape it with his chakra. The move can only be used once because the attack evaporates all the thunder clouds in the area. However, it can destroy a small mountain, and, as mentioned earlier, even an ultimate defense like the Susanoo.

6 Blaze Release: Susanoo Kagutsuchi

The Susanoo is capable of immense abilities, but Sasuke is such a fantastic ninja that he utilizes it past the standard skills. The Susanoo protects Sasuke while he unleashes a fire release of black flames. This black flame is then wielded as a weapon for the Susanoo to use.

This black flame can be turned into a multitude of powerful weapons. Fans see it transformed into a bow and arrow, a sword, and even magatama-shaped projectiles. The weapon is able to incinerate anyone struck by it and only continues to damage them as it continues.

5 Space-Time Dojutsu

Being fast is useful, especially for a shinobi. Taijutsu is what one usually relates to speed, but Sasuke is a particular case. No, seriously, Sasuke is one of the few ninjas capable of moving through space and time like this.

The ability cast a black portal that allows Sasuke to move through dimensions and then move through time. The ability drains Sasuke of chakra and keeps him from using skills that are of extreme value to him. Still, Sasuke literally moves through space and time that is nothing to scoff at.

4 Amenotejikara

So, here is another example of Sasuke moving fast quickly. Sasuke uses another space-time ninjutsu as a way to prevent massive damage from big attacks. This technique allows Sasuke to substitute places with an object or person.

Sasuke uses his eyes to shift locations with something, and this opens up Sasuke to attack an unsuspecting opponent. The move literally happens in an instant and gives Sasuke the ability to place himself in the right position tactically. It is like the substitute jutsu on steroids. The Amenotejikara not only switches places with the opponent but they still carry the momentum after the technique is used. It allows Sasuke to disorient the enemy and overtake them in a battle.

3 Rinnegan

So how is Sasuke so fast? Well, the Rinnegan is what helps Sasuke perform some of the most powerful moves in his arsenal. The Rinnegan is an ultimate technique that allows Sasuke to see chakra and see how it flows through the body. That ability is the tip of the iceberg.

No kidding here, the Rinnegan is one of Sasuke’s best cards. The technique lets him use the six paths technique (these are complex and not discussed in the list). On top of this, Sasuke can entirely copy all jutsus and, ultimately, unlock the full potential of the Sharingan. Plus, the Rinnegan is what opens this ability to move through space and time. There are not enough words to fully explain just how incredible this technique is and how much it helps Sasuke once he has unlocked it.

2 Six Paths — Chibaku Tensei

So the earlier entry mentioned the Six Paths of Yin Power. The full ability is not evident in that entry, but it’s better understood in its final use. See, the Six Paths of Yin Power is used by Sasuke, and Naruto combines his Six Paths of Yang Power to create this powerful technique.

Naruto and Sasuke combine their yin and yang release to reseal Kaguya. That is the big moment in the series. The two have peaked concerning power, and they combine their ability to defeat what basically amounts to God in this world. It’s the ultimate sealing technique that most fans will likely never see again.

1 Indra's Arrow

This is the big one. Now, although the previous entry is a top of line sealing method, it takes two to tango. Instead, Indra’s Arrow is the top power because Sasuke uses it without help. The move is named after Indra the first user of the Susanoo technique.

Sasuke uses this in coordination with his Susanoo, and, honestly, some consider it the most powerful offensive technique in the entire series. However, that cannot be proven. Sasuke creates a longbow and arrow in coordination with his lightning release. He absorbs the nine tails chakra and then uses that power to boost his arrow’s ability. The move is so strong it seems to match Naruto’s Six Paths: Ultra-Big Ball Rasenshuriken. That result means its likely at least tied for the best move in the entire series, and that just sums up how powerful Sasuke is as a shinobi.
