Customer Service Representative in Carlsbad, CA

Fast paced call center environment

There’s a lot of turnover with this company but that comes with the job since it can be stressful. You don’t get many breaks in between calls it’s kind of consistent one after another. You have a team you can ask for help as well as a supervisor, and there’s extensive training in the beginning to help better prepare you for the job. There’s a lot of benefits with the company providing food and snacks as well as physical activities. Overall it’s fulfilling because you help the aging community. But for the most part that I was employed their products weren’t working well, their services were terrible. I had so many customers calling to cancel because no one can hear them on the phone. I don’t know if they’ve gotten that fixed yet or not.

Wouldn’t recommend

Another company who doesn’t care about their employees. One of the worst places I’ve ever worked. Extremely stressful and not worth the pay. Once BestBuy bought greatcall everything went downhill and I should’ve been getting paid way more after they dumped multiple departments onto the customer advisors. The products are awful so you’re also handling angry customers that no matter how much you want to help you can’t. The sales team (like any other place) lies to the customers from the beginning about the products and process of things. And HR should be one of the departments in the company that cares the most about their employees but the management of the department is there for nothing but a paycheck and not to help employees. All I can say is don’t work here for your own health.

It is a call center. The pay and benefits were good for a call center. However, the job can be stressful and I do not feel all the policies were really geared towards the demographic they serve. This lead to irate customers when it really was a bad policy. Supervisors were overly concerned with retention rather than actually helping the customer. There was also little flexibility.

Good pay, could use some improvement

Great pay but gets very stressful, quick. Management was very heavy on employees from a metrics standpoint when everyone transitioned to work from home at the start of the pandemic. Management could reassess their promotion process as there were many colleagues of mine in higher positions that were clearly incompetent & depending on subordinates to instruct them how to do their job.

Awesome work life balance but…

So this may come as quite obvious but if you like sales you will enjoy the direct sales position. But be warned even for those who have experience in sales will find this position unique in that the customers are old and selling can be very difficult and frustrating at times. However BBH offers GREAT training and I feel they do prepare you fairly well for the position. It wasn’t for me, but if you like sales you’ll like this job. Healthy competition with no toxic salesman attitudes. Everyone is super nice and supportive. ESPECIALLY management. They want you to succeed!!

I'm glad, Training is so stupid, all they do is smile and agree with you as if you know the answers that they never explained right in the first place. Training should start in the floor for a month. But managers and HR are all people like you but with little to no experience as leaders. They lack basic skills regarding their roles. It's pathetic, infuriating, embarrassing, and they do not inspire hope, confidence, or anything good. It was a very unpleasant and embarrassing experience to have worked for this company ( worst call center ever regardless of pay rate )
